A crosswalk in the middle of nowhere

Was out looking for a Christmas tree yesterday and found this crosswalk sign on a dirt road at least 10km from any inhabited building. Guess its for the deer, bears, elk and moose. I will have to wait for the snow to melt to see if there is white rectangles under the snow.
